Hello!
My name is Yuriy Bruskov. I am the creator of Cubie. By background I am a graphic designer, UI designer, and a bit of an industrial designer, with over 10 years of experience building web and mobile apps, interactive 3D, and tools that people actually enjoy using.
Last New Year we gave our daughter a 3D printer. She absolutely loved it and printed every model from the catalog one by one. When the catalog ended, she said she wanted to make something of her own.
That got me thinking. Most 3D-modeling software is too complex for a kid. But what if there was something simple, like stacking blocks, where you could build a little character and it would just work, with moving arms and legs, ready to print?
Sure, the results will not rival professional models. But that was never the point. The point is giving children (and honestly, anyone) a simple tool to create something with their own hands and then hold it in real life.
That is how Cubie was born. I hope it brings a little joy and sparks creativity.
